I dont know why "got off the ferry" is highlighted and i dont know how to fix it, so please ignore it thanks!

New York

Last sunday Sarah, Sam's sister, came up and we all went to New York City. We drove to Staten Island and took the free ferry to New York. The cool thing about that ferry is that it passes right by the statue of liberty, so we go to see it without paying for it! always great! After we got off the ferry we headed over to Ground Zero to see what is left of the twin towers. There was nothing but a huge gaping hole with fences around it to keep the public out. They are going to build a memorial, a square fountain that goes down in tiers.
After Ground Zero we had lunch and ate true New York Slices (awesome pizza!). We meandered around a little bit trying to figure out what to do. Eventually we decided to go to Central Park. To our surprise we drove right into a Puerto Rico Day parade. There were thousand of people lining the streets in red blue and white waiving flags and singing spanish music, it was interesting....Sarah kept getting hit on by greasy Puerto Rican men, lol poor sarah!
We finally made our way into Central park and were able to find refuge from the parade. We went and saw the castle in the middle of central park that was built in the 1800's as a bird observatory. I have to admit, it was pretty cool! I'm a sucker for castles, im still a little girl inside dreaming of living in a castle!
We went through the Shakespeare Gardens which was a little disappointing. Then we took a nap on the grass. After that we got lost in the parade again.
We decided to take the subway to times square. we got lost, took the wrong train and took forever to get there; you have to have one thing go wrong in a day right?
I loved times square! I wanted to set up a lawn chair in the middle of the road and just look at everything! There was so much to see! I've never seen so many build boards in my life! It was so colorful and bright. There was so much to do there to!
After that we were tired, so we took the subway to the ferry and then took the ferry back to Staten Island, waving the Statue of Liberty good-bye. There is so much to do in New York it is over whelming, but totally worth it! I was glad I was able to go back and experience New York once again.

So, here are my New Jersey adventures thus far:

People say that you should never go on a road trip because then you find out who your spouse really is, and sometimes you wish you never found out. I found our road trip experience out to Jersey much different. I wouldn't say it was necessarily spring time and roses, but it wasn't fire and brimstone either. We had time to talk allot and really get to know each other again. Our school year was so crazy that we bairly had time to sleep let alone get to know each other better; so this road trip was exactly what we needed to get back on track. We had fun to!

we got to jersey and saw that we live right on the beach, which is crazy! its so cool to be so close, i love it! the only problem is that we have only had about 5 nice, sunny days since we have been here in Jersey. The rest of the time it has been cold, windy and grey, yuck! I can feel the optimism being sucked out of me by the constant rain.

A couple weeks after Sam and I moved out here we decided to get a puppy. His name is Harley and he is a golden retriever and is a little over 4 months now. It's amazing how fast they grow, he is almost triple in size from when we first got him. He is a smart dog, he already knows sit, lay down, shake, off and is in the process of learning come and no jumping....those last two are proving to be difficult! Sam go Harley because I had babyitis, too bad it didn't work! I realized that he is a ton of hard work, but he is so worth it!

I was able to find an internship at a local physical therapy clinic...well its not an internship, i volunteer Monday's and Fridays. I really enjoy the work i am doing there. The therapists are great and really try to make sure i understand reasoning and concepts behind different therapeutic techniques. They are really engaging my mind. I really feel like i am learning a lot. The only negative note that i have about my internship at all, but has everything to do with the area and people. I definitely am not in Utah any more. As soon as people find out that i am from Utah they ask me if I am Mormon, then they go off and off and off about things they heard or read about Mormonism. And of course everything they have heard or read is completely wrong, but they don't want to hear that they are wrong, they want to continue to believe that Mormons are a cult and practice polygamy and are terrible, non-patriotic people. It wears me out having people tell me what they think i believe in. And the TV show "big love" doesn't help me out at all. Its a constant battle to try and prove to people that i am a good person, that i am not a polygamist and that I'm human just like everyone else. like i said, it get tiring.

The latest thing in our life is that both Sam and i are very sick. Last Friday I got home from work and passed out on the bed. I slept for 2 hours and when i woke up i had a fever, chills and a headache like you could never imagine! It was so bad that i honestly couldn't move for hours. It subsided to just a nasty cough and nasal congestion. It sucks for work cause i cant talk, so i try and tell our techs the addresses, but i don't have a voice, so it gets a little tricky. Unfortunately i gave my sickness to Sam. Yesterday he took off work because he had a fever, chills, headache and couldn't move. Fortunately he felt better today, so he was able to go to work and was able to get a sale, go SAM! hopefully this sickness will go away soon so we can both do well at our jobs.

well, that brings everything up to date!
oh, except for we went to new York last weekend, ill post some of those pictures soon!
